Many patients experience receding gums, it is a common condition. Receding gums can be caused by gum or tissue disease, overly aggressive brushing or flossing, abnormal teeth positioning, grinding of the teeth, or not keeping up good oral health. It can also be caused by genetics. The most important thing is to continue keeping your mouth clean and to keep an eye out for a receding gum line. Common treatments are changing the way you brush or floss or get a mouth guard. If you are worried about it or see it getting worse, feel free to schedule an exam with Dr. Glazier. He will be able to tell you what you can do to better take care of your gums. Call us at 435-867-0644 if you have questions!
